“Low Tech: current culture, art and society” is the main theme if this 2nd Edition of the Art and Technology International Encounter held at the Universidad Católica in Valencia, Spain, on October 05th and 06th.

The event will include the participation of more than 30 international researchers and specialists from fields such as: technology, sociology, culture and art; with the use of an open and detailed dialogue that will include live and online conversations, they shall analyze how the artistic expression, the new media and the public interact with each other during an era marked by intense technological advances.

This is the second International Encounter promoted by the artist and professor from the Art and Technology School José Cosme, whom has gathered an important scientific and organizational committee in which the Colombian artist Raúl Marroquín, with residence at Amsterdam, and considered one of the pioneers of European video-art, shall form part of.

The encounter shall be held in parallel to the Miami New Media Festival 2017, which shall take place starting on October 06th in Miami (USA), Maracaibo (Venezuela) and Santo Domingo (DR), and in Valencia, Spain, with this International Encounter from the Art and Technology School.  

The acts and audio-visual documentation to be collected during this encounter shall form part of a publication that the School is developing under the title “Art and Technology Logbook”.

Other representatives from institutions such as La Paris College of Art, ESAT, Arts Connection Foundation, Miami New Media Festival, FACULTAD de Cine y Televisión de la Universidad Nacional de Bogotá, Intramurs, Japp de Witt and Producciones Catapulta shall also participate.
