The 11th edition of the Miami New Media Festival opens on October 06th, and includes the talent of artists from 18 countries in 3 continents to carry on an ambitious sample in which art, animation, technology and new media shall become a universal language that shall unite 4 cities across the world.

The Miami New Media Festival 2017 shall increase its scope in this edition, including sites in Dominican Republic, Spain and Venezuela, with the work from 35 talented artists chosen at an open call that received more than 60 proposals from audiovisual artists.

The program in Miami includes exhibitions, projections, multimedia conversations, video performances and conversations in art galleries, experimental centers, theme cafes, recreational senior homes such as the Hostos Senior Center and the URBE University.

With such varied content, as varied at the precedence of the authors, this edition shall toured visions from Germany, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, South Korea, Cuba, Ecuador, Spain, United States, France, Holland, India, Iran, Italy, Mexico, Portugal and Russia.

The raison d´etre of the Miami New Media Festival is expression through art by means of technology, that jointly with the curator and artist Nina Fuentes, Founder of the Arts Connection Foundation, has shown to a steadily bigger audience the work of hundreds of talented individuals worldwide.

For this edition, the Miami New Media Festival shall include different curatorial lines that shall be exhibited in different spaces:   “Narraciones Divergentes” (Divergent Narrative) and “Animatic 0.1”, videoart and animation selections from Adriana Barrios and Mauisa Parada, organizers of the Festival, and “Metáforas de la Emergencia” (Metaphors of the Emergency), curatorship from Gerardo Zavarce, a selection of videoart and politics that shall be projected at Miami and Santo Domingo.
